NTSB Releases Preliminary Report On Plane Crash
The NTSB has released a preliminary report on last month’s plane crash in Janesville. Over the weekend, multiple sources reported that the Velocity V-twin experimental aircraft experienced engine issues and asked to return to the airport. The report states that a minute after takeoff, the pilots, Remington Viney and Tanner Byholm reported the issue and asked to turn around. The air traffic controller asked if the pilots needed assistance and it was declined. There was no other radio communication. The plane was heading from Appleton to Sebastian, Florida to receive maintenance on the plane’s landing gear. Viney and Byholm, both decorated pilots, were pronounced dead at the scene. A full NTSB report is expected in 12-24 months.
