New Mental Health Pilot Program Launches
A new pilot program in Walworth County looks to provide expertise on how to deal with a mental health crisis for Police. According to the Whitewater Banner, the program is known as the Embedded Liaison Crisis Program, the program will put mental health professionals on site at police stations and on call 24/7 to give real-time mental health services to the community. The liaisons will go on calls with police, who will secure the scene before making a determination when it is appropriate to hand the scene over. Delavan City and Whitewater were selected as the first partners for the pilot program. More information is available on Walworth County DHHS website.
