Name Of Individual In Watertown Murder-Suicide Released

The name of one of the individuals in Saturday’s murder-suicide in Watertown has been released. The Daily Jefferson Union reports that former Watertown police officer, 52-year old Douglas Teuteberg, shot his 16-year old son and then himself. Officers said they responded to the residence for a welfare check and began speaking with family and friends. Officers attempted contact with Teuteberg. Officers assumed imminent risk of harm, and assumed the “community caretaker” responsibility, and entered the home on Country Lane, finding both Teuteberg and his son dead. Teuteberg retired from the Watertown PD in 2017. Due to the nature of the case, Watertown PD has asked for assistance from the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office and Wisconsin DOJ on the investigation.
