More than 4 Dozen Displaced By Janesville Apartment Fire
Firefighters in Janesville battled an apartment fire this weekend that left more than 4 dozen people displaced. Channel3000 reports that firefighters responded to the 120 block of St. Lawrence Avenue for a report of smoke, and that’s where they found fire coming out of a second story window. All of the floors of the apartment suffered damage. The Red Cross is assisting 22 people. WKOW reports that a pet was killed during the fire, and 5 people had to be rescued from the second floor, and two from the third floor, while Janesville Police removed a person from the first floor. Two people were treated for smoke inhalation at the scene. The fire remains under investigation.
