Longtime Jefferson County Dispatcher to Retire
A Jefferson County dispatcher is set to retire. In a letter to Jefferson County residents, Lance Shanahan will be retiring from his post on March 13. Shanahan joined the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office in a part-time role on March 5, 2000 and became full-time in 2005. Shanahan also spent time as a dispatcher for the Fort Atkinson Police Department, and served as the president of the Jefferson County Emergency Communications group for 7 years. After having a major surgery in 2020, Shanahan returned to work to finish out his career the right way.
