According to a press release from the Wisconsin Department of Health Services, Open Arms Free Clinic in Elkhorn has been awarded $50 thousand from the Department of Health Services. This funding will support the medical team to prepare vaccine ambassadors and community health workers for outreach and the medical volunteers needed for in-house vaccine clinics. Also, the St. Mary’s Foundation, which serves Jefferson and Rock Counties, is receiving $100 thousand for extending mobile vaccine operations that provide educational efforts connected to vaccination opportunities; including booster doses and outreach for vaccination of children ages 5 to 11, pending FDA approval.
