Lake Mills Man Sentenced On Sex Charges

A Lake Mills man has been sentenced on sex crimes charges. The Daily Union reports that Emmanuel McDonald will spend five years of confinement in prison and three years on extended supervision. He was convicted on charges of using a computer to facilitate a sex crime. Charges of child enticement were dismissed, however. A plea deal had been reached ahead of the trial on that charge. McDonald visited a travel plaza in June 2019 thinking he was meeting a 15-year old girl, but instead was met by members of a child sex predator awareness group. McDonald admitted to the reasoning for his visit, and was arrested by Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputies. McDonald also has to undergo a psych evaluation, and follow treatment recommendations suggested by the state. He also is not allowed to have contact with anyone 18 years or younger and must register as a sex offender.
