Lake Geneva Considering Limiting Boat Slip Availability

The City of Lake Geneva has come up with a way to handle the enormous amount of backlog for boat slips on the lake. According to the LGRN, the city could limit the number of parking slips to 75. More than 160 people have filed applications for boat parking slips. Residents are expected to get priority over non-residents, and it could reportedly be “a long time”, before non-residents can get slips. The city says that some people could be on the waiting list for 30 years or more, if only two slips become available each year, and more than 20 years if three slips become available. More plans will be presented by the harbormaster at a meeting on April 13.
