Jefferson County Allocated Federal Money

Jefferson County was awarded more than $18,000 in federal funding. According to the Daily Union, the Department of Homeland Security, along with FEMA and EFSP awarded $18,315 to the county. The funds will be used to distribute to agencies that apply for funds in 2021. Agencies chosen must fit one of six requirements, such as being nondiscriminatory, being a non-profit, and have shown the capability to provide emergency food and shelter. Jefferson County’s EFSP Board will decide how to distribute the funds. Public or private voluntary agencies interested can call the Salvation Army at 920-980-7938 by March 1 to apply.
