Janesville To Open Pools; In Desperate Need Of Lifeguards

The City Of Janesville says they plan to open two pools in June and are still in search of lifeguards. The Rockport Pool and Palmer Wading Pool will open on June 5 after not being open last year, and will open with additional safety protocols including a reduction in capacity, social distancing, and increased cleaning. The shortage of lifeguards is not central to Janesville, as the entire state is experiencing a shortage. Facility hours will need to be reduced if not enough lifeguards are found. Free lifeguard courses will be offered for individuals 15 years of age and older interested in certification who meet the skill requirements. Call 608-755-3030 for more information. In addition, the Splash Pad at Riverside Park will open on Saturday, and Lion’s Beach opens may 29.
