Janesville to Close TID 22 and 29

At the Janesville City Council meeting on Monday, they approved the dissolution of TID’s number 22 and 29. The City Council created TID No. 22 in 1999, as an industrial district to support the development of an industrial park. TID 29, created in 2007, was made to promote redevelopment along the south end of Milton Avenue. Tax incremental districts are required to be closed at either a predetermined termination date, or when the project plan implementation has been completed. TID 22 is required to be closed by September 2022, and TID 29 by April 2027. However, both these TID’s have served their purpose and will be dissolved.
