Janesville Resident Concerned About Wheel Tax

At last night’s Janesville City Hall Meeting, a citizen voiced concern regarding the city’s wheel tax during public comment. The tax started at 10 dollars, and has been increasing. The citizen stated in their comment that the wheel tax was not effective, and was concerned if citizens who do not own a vehicle or do not drive pay the tax. However, later in the meeting City Manager Mark Frietag stated that on February 4 from 1-3 p.m. the city is having a virtual special meeting for the transportation utility study session, where some of these concerns may be addressed.
