According to an update from the Janesville Police Department, yesterday Sergeant Brian Vaughn retired from the police department after 28 years of service within the city. He was hired in the department in January of 1994. Before his career in Janesville, he served with the Military Police for 5 years in the U.S. Army. In his time at the Janesville Police Department, Vaughn held a variety of assignments, including Patrol Officer, Bike Officer, Field Training Officer, Special Operations Unit, State Line Narcotics Team, and Domestic Violence Intervention Team. He was also a member of the department’s SWAT team for ten years, and served as the SWAT team leader and assistant SWAT commander. Vaughn was promoted to his current rank in 2007.
