Janesville Police Arrest Man Wanted On Homicide Charges After Pursuit
Janesville Police have made an arrest for reckless homicide after a vehicle pursuit. According to a press release late Wednesday night, Janesville police officers attempted a traffic stop just after 9 PM on Crosby Avenue. The vehicle was driven by Chad Bobzien, who had a warrant for a 2019 overdose death that resulted in homicide charges. Bobzien led officers on a pursuit after refusing to stop, Rock County Sheriff’s Deputies, who assisted Janesville Police, used stop sticks to end the chase near County A and County H. The vehicle veered into a field off of County A near Polzin Road. Bobzien and a female passenger were taken into custody without incident. The pursuit lasted 17 minutes and went 20 miles. In addition to reckless homicide charges, Bobzien is now also charged with fleeing an officer, false imprisonment, possession of drug paraphernalia, and 1st degree recklessly endangering safety.
