Janesville Opens Four Shelters To Combat the Cold
The City of Janesville has opened four shelters to combat the extreme cold temperatures expected this weekend. Daytime warming locations will be at both the Hedberg Public Library, and at Uptown Janesville, both on Milton Avenue, while overnight shelters will be located at the GIFTS Men’s Shelter on Washington Street, and the House of Mercy Homeless Center on Lincoln St. Both of these locations are by appointment only. Additionally, the Rock County Emergency Operations Center has activated an emergency warming shelter, which opened from February 4 and will remain open through the 10.
