Janesville Man Under Arrest for Disorderly Conduct

A Janesville man is under arrest after he refused to leave his house according to a Janesville Police news release. Officers responded to 152 Cherry st on a report of a person who was out of control. When officers arrived Raymond Gross exited the residence armed with a knife, he did not obey the officer’s commands and went back into the house. A perimeter was established around the house and made attempts to contact him through phone and intercom but Raymond refused. A fire was observed inside one of the bedrooms and as the house filled up with smoke Raymond exited through the front door unarmed and was taken into custody without further incident. The Janesville fire department arrived as Raymond was exiting the house and they were able to put the fire out and the damage to the residence is estimated at 15 thousand dollars. Raymond was arrested and charged with Disorderly conduct/domestic violence, criminal damage to property, failure to comply with officers and Arson. Raymond is being held at the Rock County jail until his initial court appearance.
