Janesville Man Charged In Capitol Insurrection Makes First Court Appearance
The Janesville man charged for his role in the Capitol incident in January made his initial court appearance on Thursday. According to WKOW in Madison, a federal magistrate in charge of the case allowed 42-year old Michael Fitzgerald, who faces numerous charges, to remain free, but he must wear ankle monitoring, and stay away from Washington DC except for preparing his trial. After some of Fitzgerald’s employees reportedly spoke with federal authorities, Fitzgerald spoke with the FBI one day later. Records are stating Fitzgerald spent about forty minutes in the Capitol, and Fitzgerald’s attorney says he was non-aggressive and just took pictures.
