According to an update from the Janesville Police Department, yesterday at 5:15 a.m. Janesville resident 49 year old Mario Rivers was operating a vehicle that was stopped for a defective brake light and revoked driving status near the intersection of Laurel Ave. and N. Palm St. in the City of Janesville. Rivers displayed signs of impairment during the traffic stop, and failed a standardized field sobriety test. He was arrested for 5th Offense OWI. Rivers is currently on probation for 4th offense OWI, and his driving status was revoked due to the prior OWI offenses. A sample of River’s blood was obtained and results are pending. He was unable to be held at the Rock County Jail due to COVID-19 protocols, and was released after being processed.
