Janesville Fire Served Key Part In Whitewater Plane Crash Response
The Janesville Fire Department is revealing more information regarding its role in the recovery of a plane that crashed in Whitewater over the weekend. The department responded to assist with an ambulance, chief and a technical rescue unit. JFD firefighters worked to set up rope systems with beloit firefighters to bring the occupants of the aircraft to safety. Along with the Madison HURT team, all three occupants were extricated and carefully lifted to the ground. As previously stated, the plane, which was heading to Burlington, crashed into the Kettle Moraine State Forest in Whitewater around 9:20 PM Saturday night, resulting in remarkably, no injuries. FAA investigators were on scene a short time later to investigate.
