Janesville Fire Promotes Holiday Fire Safety

The Janesville Fire Department has a unique way of promoting fire safety this holiday season. The fire department has hung up clear Christmas lights on its tree at the Central Fire Station on Milton Avenue. The clear lights are used to promote Janesville residents being “clear” about fire prevention and safety during the Holidays. From now until December 31st, for every residential fire, one of the lights will turn red. JFD reminds its residents that heating, decorations and candles, along with winter storms, are all contributors to residential fires during this time of year.
