According to a release from the Janesville Fire Department, yesterday they responded to a report of a building on fire at the intersection of N. Washington St. and Highland Ave. When crews first arrived, they reported a small commercial building with heavy smoke coming from the eaves of the building, and they were able to get the fire under control in about 30 minutes. The smoke caused excessive damage to the interior of the building, but no cost estimates have been made. The cause of the fire is still under investigation, and no injuries were reported.
