Janesville Fire Department Responds to Basement Fire

According to an update from the Janesville Fire Department, yesterday they along with the Police Department responded to a basement fire on Jefferson Ave. A hoseline was stretched, but the fire was controlled with a water can. The fire did not extend outside of the basement area. The fire began in the area of a heating lamp, and no injuries were reported at the scene. A cat and two chicks were taken from the house alive, and given to their owner.
