Janesville Announces Officers Of the Year

The Janesville Police Department has announced its 2021 Officers of the year. Timothy J O’Leary has been named the Police Officer of the Year. The 26-year veteran has received numerous compliments in his time with the department, and is the assistant SWAT commander. Kristen Lee was named the Civilian of the Year. She has been with the department for 8 years. She serves primarily in an administrative role with the department. Additionally, Sergeant Dean Sukus is receiving the Award of Excellence. The 27-year veteran was praised for his commitment to the department during the surprise announcement of a campaign rally in Janesville, and with dealing with civil unrest locally. Sukus also leads the Honor Guard and K9 program. Numerous other awards were handed out. A link to the press release is on the Janesville Police Facebook page.
