The Rock County Sheriff’s Office is mourning the loss of a former deputy. The department says on Facebook that John “Mike” Jones passed away on January 3rd. The department says that Jones served from 1967 to 1995 as a deputy sheriff in both Patrol and Court Services as well as serving as a member of the Dive Team. The department also says that Jones took pride in his job and in serving his community as well as the community policing philosophy. The department is respectfully acknowledging his 28 years of service to the community.
