After about two weeks, the Village of Fontana terminated its burn ban on Monday. According to Fire Chief Wolfgang Nitsch, the recent rainfalls have drastically decreased the fire risk. Residents are still asked to be cautious this holiday weekend, and residents are also reminded that there are still fire prone areas. Fireworks remain banned in Fontana.
Lake Geneva also ended their burn ban Monday after several weeks.
