Federal Investigators Now In Control Of Janesville Plane Crash Scene

Federal investigators arrived in Janesville Wednesday to process the remains of the aircraft crash that occurred on Tuesday morning. The investigation is taking place in Happy Hollow Park, a wooded area about a mile south of the airport. Sources report that the NTSB arrived in Rock County around 8 AM Wednesday, and the FAA is also expected to assist. The RCSO is continuing to keep the area cordoned off for the duration of the cleanup and investigation. Two people died in the Tuesday crash mere seconds after takeoff from Southern Wisconsin Regional Airport. The identities of the deceased will be released at a later date. The plane was located upside down and submerged in mud. It took about 10 minutes for a Samaritan to lead authorities to the crash site. Happy Hollow Park will remain closed for the duration of the investigation.
