East Troy Warns About Ice Safety
The Town of East Troy Police Department is reminding its residents that ice is not safe, and has released “Ice Thickness Guidelines”. The guidelines apply only to clear ice. Ice depths that are 3 inches or less means residents are warned to stay off, while 4 inches is acceptable for fishing and skating. 5 to 6 inches is acceptable for snowmobiles, 8 to 12 inches for cars and small trucks, and 12 to 15 inches for medium sized trucks. The department is also emphasizing that no motorized vehicles are allowed on Lake Beulah.
