Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over Begins Today

The Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign begins today. Many local police departments, including Mukwonago, Delavan and the Rock County Sheriff’s Office, have announced their intent to participate in the program. In Rock County specifically, a task force made up of both Beloit departments, as well as Janesville, Clinton and Orfordville police, and the RCSO are participating. Extra officers will be on patrol, to encourage safe driving. Wisconsin saw more than 6,000 crashes relating to 2,918 injuries and 140 deaths last year, which is about 25% of the state’s traffic fatalities. The City of Beloit wants to remind individuals that this program is not about stopping or arresting motorists, but about saving lives and preventing needless tragedies. The entire program runs from today through New Year’s Day.
