DOT, State Patrol Trying To Prevent I-43 Rollovers

WISDOT and the WSP are working together to fix the amount of rollover crashes on I-43. The BDN reports that there have been four semi truck rollover crashes since October in the area of I-39/I-90 to I-43, including three since February 9. Excessive speed appears to be part of the issue in the area, as well as drivers being unfamiliar with the new road layout because of construction. The State Patrol says that they have increased patrols in the area, and they have also held joint meetings with WISDOT to prevent further accidents in the area. A temporary change to the northbound construction might fix the issue. The construction project is expected to be in its final year.
