Delavan Man Charged In 2019 Drug Overdose; Man Falls Off Roof

A drug dealer is facing charges after a man who fell off a roof had reportedly received heroin from them. The LGRN reports that 34-year old David Ritchay of the 410 block of N Wright St in Delavan, is charged manufacturing and delivering heroin, second and subsequent offense, and possession with intent to deliver/distribute a controlled substance on or near a park. The arrest stems from an October 23, 2019 incident when a man had fallen off a roof and was unresponsive. The caller told police that they knew the man that fell off the roof, and that the victim had reportedly spoken to a man in a van, later identified as Ritchay, earlier in that day. The man who fell off the roof told police Ritchay had given him sleep medication. Police determined the man fell off the roof as a result of a drug overdose, and conversations with Ritchay were found in the victim’s phone.
