Clinton Train Derailment Update
The Clinton Police Department posted just after 5 PM Thursday that Highway 140 had reopened after a minor train derailment. No injuries were reported and a picture of two excavators lifting a derailed car back on to the tracks was posted to Facebook. Initial reports state that the derailment was caused by a mechanical issue. Highway 140 was closed in both directions, as the train was near a railroad crossing at the time of the derailment. The Clinton Department of Public Works assisted police.
