According to an update from the City of Lake Mills, last week they started getting calls from customers regarding an email they received about high water usage. They are apologizing for any inconvenience or concern the notification caused, as the emails were sent as a test of the notification system. The City of Lake Mills is working on ways to better communicate with customers. One way under consideration is to contact customers when their water or electric usage changes beyond normal usage ranges.
The recent emails regarding high water usage were sent as a test of the notification system. This test turned up some glitches that must and will be addressed before the city continues these notifications. These notifications are now turned off until the issues are resolved. Any emails in this regard can be ignored at this time. When the system is ready for a next test, the city will notify customers that such emails may restart.
