In a post from the Jefferson Police Department, a sex offender Robert L. Maher who was released in August of 2017 and has been living in Watertown wants to move to the city of Jefferson. His new residence would be within 1,500 feet of the child safety zone at Rivers Edge Park. A sex offender residence appeal board meeting will be held on March 9 at 4 p.m. at the City of Jefferson Police Department in the community room to discuss this matter and weather or not Maher will be approved to move.
