City of Janesville Joins National Geocaching Trash Movement

The City of Janesville is now including geocaching into its trash program as it joins a national movement. The city says that the initiative states that anyone geocaching in parks in May or June can bring a trash bag with them to collect trash. If you find a cache, text a picture of the cache and a message to Janesville Parks and Rec at 608-755-3030, or call them at the same number. The city says it will award prizes. Geocaching is an activity where individuals use GPS to find hidden high tech items, or “caches”.
