According to an update from the City of Janesville, in 2021 the Clerk-Treasurer's Office purchased Badger Books; an electronic poll book. The city is introducing Badger Books for the upcoming April 5 election. Badger Books are used to check in voters, process absentee ballots, register voters on election day, and more. They help produce turnout reports in a timely fashion and track voter participation more accurately than their paper counterpart.
The City Clerk-Treasurer's Office is holding two Electronic Poll Books Open House and Demonstration Events. Both informational sessions will be held at the Clerk-Treasurer’s Office on the 2nd-floor lobby of City Hall (18 N. Jackson St.). The first event is March 10 from 3-6 p.m. and the other is March 12 from 10 a.m. - noon. If you have any questions, call the City of Janesville Clerk-Treasurer’s Office at (608) 755-3070.
