City of Janesville Declares Winter Weather Emergency

The City of Janesville has declared a winter weather emergency ahead of today’s weather event. The emergency goes into effect at 6 PM and residents are being asked to keep their vehicles off city streets until 5 AM Tuesday. Up to 3 inches of snow are expected. Because temperatures rise back into the 40s and 50s this week, there is not currently a plan for citywide plowing, but slippery roads could be likely. Fines for parking in streets are $50. More information is available by calling 608-755-SNOW or 608-755-3110.
