City of Fort Atkinson Discusses 2022 Budget

On Tuesday night at the City of Fort Atkinson City Council meeting, the board approved a property tax levy of over 8 million dollars to support city operations for 2022. There will be a mill rate of $8.69 per $1 thousand of assessed property valuation, which is less than what was earlier presented. Rebecca Houseman Lemire, Fort Atkinson’s City Manager, discussed the 2022 general fund expenditures. The largest section of general fund expenditures is for public safety, with over $3.5 million being spent. The second largest general fund expenditure is for public works, with over $2 million.
