City of Delavan Fire Hydrant Recommendations

As other local fire departments have also done, the City of Delavan Fire Department is also reminding its residents about leaving space near fire hydrants after snowfall. The department is asking residents to leave a perimeter of around 3 feet around the hydrant. This allows a wide enough space to walk through. They also recommend clearing space from the hydrant to the street. This recommendation follows in the footsteps of other fire departments such as the City of Beloit’s fire department, who issued similar recommendations earlier this week, asking its residents to leave 5 feet of space around the hydrants.
