City of Beloit reminds Residents of Requirements for Political Signs

The City of Beloit has shared information regarding political signs. If you’re planning on displaying a political sign, please follow these requirements:

• Display the sign on private property (with permission if not your own property)

• No larger than 32 square feet

• Place the sign at least 10 feet back from property lines

• Do not display in the public right-of-way or on other government property, including (but not limited to)

• Parks

• Street Terraces

• Medians

• Vacant Lots

Unlawful signs may be confiscated and/or result in municipal citations being issued. On Election Day, no sign may be displayed on public property within 100 feet of any entrance to a building containing a polling place.
