City of Beloit Applies for Wisconsin DOT Local Roads Improvement Program Funding

Last night at the City of Beloit City Council meeting, they discussed the submission of a grant to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation for the 2022-2023 Local Roads Improvement Program discretionary funding. If Beloit is awarded this grant, they would use the funds for the reconstruction of E. Grand Ave. between State St. and Pleasant St. The improvements would include street and sidewalk reconstruction, improved drainage, and streetscape

enhancements. The total cost of the project is estimated at $550,000. The grant application is for $275,000 and the required local match would be $275,000. If awarded the grant the City has 6 years to complete the project and utilize the funding. More information on the grant will be given if it becomes available.
