Busy Weekend For Firefighters In Beloit

It was a busy weekend for firefighters in Beloit. On Friday night, firefighters in the City limits responded to a report of a building collapse on Gateway Boulevard. A fork lift hit a column on the building, causing a roof collapse. Everyone was accounted for and no injuries were reported. The building suffered significant damage. Also on Friday night, firefighters responded to a home on fire in the Town limits, on east Valley Road. Firefighters found an attached garage on fire, that had extended to the house. The cold weather conditions limited water supply operations caused firefighters to remain on scene for nearly 6 hours. No injuries were reported, and the damage costs are close to $200,000.
