According to an update from the Racine County Sheriff’s Office, yesterday the Communications Center received calls for a two vehicle accident involving one vehicle that rolled over on CTH-A/Plank Rd. at CTH-J./ N. English Settlement Ave. in the Village of Rochester. Upon Racine County Sheriff’s Office Deputies arrival they observed a Chevrolet sedan with severe front side damage and a 22 foot box truck with moderate damage located on the ditch line of CTH-J.
The initial investigation showed that the box truck was southbound on CTH-J and failed to stop at the stop sign at CTH-A for the Chevrolet sedan that was traveling westbound on CTH-A, resulting in the collision.
The operator of the box truck, a 50-year-old male from Chicago, Illinois, had non-life-threatening injuries. He was cooperative in the investigation, and no signs of intoxication were observed, but he was taken to a hospital so a legal blood draw could be performed.
The driver of the Chevrolet Sedan was a 41-year-old female from the City of Burlington. The female driver sustained life threatening injuries in the crash, and succumbed to those injuries at the scene.
Further information on the identity of those involved in this crash is pending notification of family members. More information on this story will be given as it becomes available.
