Burlington Fire Department Receives Class 2 Rating from Insurance Service Office

According to a press release from the City of Burlington, WI, the fire department recently received the Insurance Service Office rating of Class 2; one point better than their current Class 3 rank. This switch will become effective on July 1. The Burlington Fire Department is in the top 3% of over 39,000 Fire Departments around the nation. The Insurance Service Office evaluates departments on a scale of 1-10, with a 1 being the best score. They base their score off their facilities and staff, training methods and frequency, equipment, and other supporting features like the amount of fire hydrants in the city and the distances between them.
