UPDATED: Beloit Police Investigating Homicide; Suspect In Custody

UPDATED: Beloit Police have arrested 34-year-old Mario Tucker in connection with Monday's homicide. Tucker shot and killed a 50-year-old male after an argument at a residence in the 1000 block of 10th Street around 6:20 Monday morning. Police located Tucker on the bridge at Portland Avenue around 7:45 Monday morning, and Tucker tossed something in the river, presumably a weapon. The name of the individual killed is not being released. Tucker was living at the residence for less than a week, and previously lived in Janesville and Minnesota. The incident occurred in the 1000 block of 10th Street around 6:20 Monday morning. Police were investigating, and say a man was transported to the hospital after being shot, where he was pronounced dead.
The Rock County Dive Team was also called to the Portland Avenue bridge to assist in the investigation. The BPD says that there is no threat to the public, but to avoid both areas.
