Beloit Police Investigating Fatal Accident

Police in Beloit are investigating a fatal overnight accident. Police say a 24-year-old Town of Beloit man was changing a flat tire near Maple Avenue with an assisting vehicle. That’s when, just after 8:30 PM, another vehicle struck the assisting vehicle, pinning the man between the two vehicles. The victim was taken to a local hospital and he was pronounced dead. The driver of the vehicle that hit the man was a 27-year-old woman from Beloit, later identified as Alexa R. Simpson. She was arrested and charged with homicide by intoxicated use of a motor vehicle. The accident remains under investigation and the Wisconsin State Patrol is assisting in the reconstruction of the accident.
