According to an update from the Beloit Police Department, they have been investigating a residence on Grant St. after concerns were brought forward. Through an investigation, the Violent Crimes Interdiction Team developed enough information to obtain a search warrant of the home. An individual being investigated, 19 year old Jatavion M. Cartwright, was taken into custody for a Department of Corrections warrant on Wednesday. During the search, officers found marijuana, drug paraphernalia, a facsimile firearm, and a stolen firearm. This investigation is ongoing.
