Beloit Man Taken Into Custody Following Hit and Run
According to a post from the City of Beloit Police Department, they responded to an incident this morning after 21 year old Derik J. Coleman from Beloit was involved in a hit and run accident in the 1900 block of Cleora Drive. Coleman walked home after the incident and told a woman what had happened. She then called the police to report the incident, and Coleman was upset by this and grabbed a handgun and fired in the air. Police arrived at the scene and convinced Coleman to surrender without incident. He was taken into custody for disorderly conduct while armed, reckless endangering safety by use of a dangerous weapon, and first offense operating while intoxicated.
