Beloit Man Sues Food Processing Plant After Wife Dies of COVID-19

A Beloit man has sued a food processing plant in Walworth County after alleging unsafe working conditions led to his wife’s death. Multiple sources report that Rigoberto Ruiz is seeking compensation for the May 5, 2020 of his wife Martha, from COVID-19. The lawsuit states that the company did not enforce masks and unmasked employees were improperly addressed. Ruiz says he got the virus from the plant and passed it on to his wife, who later died. The lawsuit also states that the company was negligent and failed to adopt policies required by the CDC to prevent the transmission of COVID-19.
