Beloit Man Charged After Man Dies of Drug Overdose
A Beloit man has been charged after a man overdosed at a hotel in Lake Geneva in early January. According to the LGRN, 33-year-old Adam Rogers is charged with reckless homicide. According to the criminal complaint, on January 4th, officers responded to the Chateau Royale Motel on Main St for a report of two unidentified subjects unconscious in a bathtub before 10 PM. A 47-year-old man and 40-year old woman were found unresponsive and Narcan was administered. Authorities were able to revive the woman but efforts to save the man were unsuccessful. Heroin was located after police obtained a search warrant. The woman told police they had arranged a deal to buy crack cocaine from Rogers, and they had just moved into the motel that day. Police then reportedly used the woman to catch the drug dealer, who was later arrested in Darien. Rogers plead guilty in 2011 to a single armed robbery charge and was sentenced to 15 years in prison, with eight years confinement and seven years supervision. He was released from the confinement portion of his sentence in June 2019.
