According to an update from the City of Beloit, Beloit City Council will consider applying for grant funding for a future development project downtown involving the property at 80-100 East Grand Ave. during their March 7 meeting. The project would be in an amount between $16-20 million, and no tax payer dollars would be used. The project would include the demolition of the existing vacant structure that protrudes over the Rock River. The developer plans to build a four-story structure that could include retail, commercial, or residential uses. More information on this project will be given as it becomes available.
